Valery Videtskyh was born in 1948 in Krasnodar.
In 1978 he graduated from the Krasnodar Art College.
In 1979 he went St. Petersburg, where he worked in the restoration workshops of the Hermitage, studied the secrets of Dutch painting, ceramics, porcelain, overglaze and underglaze painting.
He is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, a regular participant of regional, regional and zonal exhibitions.
Every year he presents his works at exhibitions in Rostov-on-Don, Nalchik, St. Petersburg, Riga and other cities of Russia and the CIS.
His works are in private collections of connoisseurs of art on the territory of the CIS and abroad.
