Sergei Vorzhev was born on February 21, 1950 in Varenikovskaya village of Krasnodar Territory. In 1972 he graduated from the Artistic and Graphic Faculty of Kuban State University. Since 1983 he is a member of the Union artists of Russia.
In his works, the artist depicts landscapes and untouched places of a small homeland, often resorting to ethnic surrealism. One of his favourite motifs is “Marapatsuta” (“my solar chariot “).
Sergey Vorzhev is a participant of numerous exhibitions of all levels, including 14 international (since 1977). He has got more than ten solo exhibitions.
The works of S. Vorzhev are in the collection of the Krasnodar Regional Art Museum named after Kovalenko; Maikop Art Museum, the Ministry of Culture of Russia,
and also available in private collections in Japan, Singapore, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Germany, Austria, Italy, Antalya, France, Russia.
The artist lives and works in Krasnodar.
